Dr. Jeffrey L. Undercoffer is a retired Supervisory Special Agent of the United States Secret Service. He was last assigned to the Presidential Protective Division where he was responsible for the protection of the President of the United States and the White House Complex.

In addition to an extraordinary and unique combination of technical knowledge and criminal investigative skill, he has vast experience interacting in Washington with Senior White House, Congressional, Executive Branch, and Law Enforcement personnel. Dr. Undercoffer retired from the Secret Service after 21 years of distinguished duty. While at the United States Secret Service, he was decorated with the Director's Lifesaving Award and the National Criminal Investigator of the Year Award, among other distinctions. Prior to his assignment to the Presidential Protective Division, he was assigned to several headquarters and operational divisions where he was charged with the investigation of counterfeit currency, computer and communications fraud and financial fraud. He also served as a weapons instructor.

He has co-authored several academic papers presenting original and novel contributions in the fields of computer security, data mining, mobile-adhoc systems, wireless networking and artificial intelligence. His works are published in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He has also published two book chapters.

He also held the position of Solutions Director, World Wide Computer Security Practice, at Unisys Corporation where he was responsible for the design and implementation of security controls for the protection of critical infrastructures (software, hardware and policy), computer incident response capability and computer forensics.

He received his BSc in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, University College and his MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
