The Semantic Interpretation of Nominal Compounds

Author: Tim Finin
This paper briefly introduces an approach to the problem of building semantic interpretations of nominal compounds, i.e., sequences of two or more nouns related through modification. Examples of the kind of nominal compounds dealt with are: "engine repairs", "aircraft flight arrival", "aluminum water pipe" and "noun noun modification".
